The Nan Hai Pu Tuo Temple of Australia was incorporated in 1996 as a religious organisation and it is not affiliated or linked to any other Buddhist organisation in Australia.

The majority who visits and pray at the temples are ethnic Chinese from various South East Asian countries such mainland China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore Vietnam and many more. Size of the weekly congregation varies depends on the occasion, for example on days of significance like Chinese New Year, the birthday of Buddha Sakyamuni , the annual Yu Lan ceremonies etc. Upto 40 people would visit the temple throughout the day.

The Nan Hai Pu Tuo Temple of Australia Inc. is a not for profit Buddhist organisation. Our vision is to propagate, study and practice the Dharma (Buddha’s teachings). Our mission is to promote and cultivate the Chinese culture and traditions in our multicultural society especially amongst our younger generation and to provide spiritual guidance to the Australian community and those in need.
